Ragdoll

Ragdoll cats are affectionate, loyal and very intelligent creatures that fit well into any family size. They are happy to be involved in play and fun, retaining playfulness into adulthood.

Females are noticeably smaller than males. This breed is characterized by a large body size and a regular head and nose shape. The ears are medium-sized, set low on the head, short neck, long and fluffy tail, and long and strong legs. On top of that, Ragdoll retains elegance in its lines. There are many color variations with various shades. The average lifespan is up to 15 years.

Character

Beauty is just a small part of what this breed provides. Character is what makes them special and different from all other cats. These cats are calm, quiet, very relaxed (hence the name - Ragdoll; "rag doll") and very cuddly and attached to their owners. The most notable characteristic is that ragdolls are never aggressive towards people, so they are great for families with children (who, of course, know how to behave with a cat). A classic ragdoll will even show dangerous child pulling as the best thing in the world, so it is very important to explain to children how to behave towards them.

Ragdolls are EXCLUSIVELY indoor cats. Given that they are very open, brave, and do not respond to provocation, an outdoor life would very quickly lead to a catastrophe. A Ragdoll should only go outside with the accompaniment of its owner or on a leash.

They are an extremely obedient breed that always wants to please its owner, and are always focused on their owners, making them easy to train. They quickly learn to walk on a leash, fetch a ball, and perform various other tricks. They get along well with other pets, especially dogs (since they are cat-dogs after all).

Ragdoll cats are not high-energy cats; rather, they prefer to spend their day following you and trying to lie on you or next to you for yet another round of petting, if necessary. And of course, a very dear cat thing is sleeping.

Health

Ragdolls belong to healthier cat breeds. Their expected lifespan is equal to that of any other domestic cat- 12-15 years. The most common genetic diseases in the breed are HCM (Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and PkD (Polycystic Kidneys).

Every responsible breeder is obliged to test the cats for these two diseases (genetic PCR test) and does not breed cats that are not N/N, i.e. they only breed cats that are negative for these two diseases and are not genetic carriers of them, thus providing the future owner with a healthy best friend.

There are claims that ragdolls are HYPOALLERGENIC cats. Many people who are allergic to cats have not had any reaction, some have even had their first experience. Certainly, before making a decision to purchase, test your reactions to cats and consult with your doctor.

Looks

Ragdolls are known for their distinctive appearance. They are a type of pointed cats, which means that they are born completely white and over time develop color on the "pointed parts" such as the face, ears, legs, back, and tail. The color develops as late as 3 to 5 years of age.

Ragdoll cats are known for their distinctive appearance. They belong to the pointed breed, which means that they are born completely white and then develop color on their "pointed parts," such as the face, ears, legs, back, and tail. The color takes about 3 to 5 years to develop. Ragdolls are one of only a few breeds that do not have an undercoat, which makes their fur very rarely knot and less prone to matting than other semi-longhair or longhair breeds. However, like all cats, they still shed and require grooming. The grooming needs are minimal, with weekly brushing being sufficient and they enjoy the grooming process. During shedding season, grooming twice to three times a week is required. Their fur should feel silky smooth to the touch. When people pet a Ragdoll cat for the first time, they often say, "Their fur is as soft as a bunny's!"

"Eyes are the mirror of the soul" - and so it is with the ragdoll, their deep blue eyes immediately show the warmth and love they have inside. When they look at you with those eyes, you'll have to give them a treat or two.

Ragdolls are one of the largest cat breeds in the world, with males weighing approximately 8 kg and females weighing about 6 kg. Castrated cats are much larger, with males reaching up to 10 kg and females over 7 kg. Another characteristic is a slow development, they reach their full size around the fifth year of life.

Ragdolls come in multiple colorsincluding blue, seal, lilac, chocolate, red, and cream, and there may be a combination of red or cream with one of the other four colors for females. Each color and pattern can also have a lynx pattern.

This breed comes in three patterns - Colorpoint, Mitted, and Bicolor.Every pattern can be present with every listed color.

1) COLORPOINT

The Colorpoint pattern is distinctive in that, unlike the other two, it does not have parts of the paws (or head) that are completely white. The mask, entire paws, and tail are in the point color, while the back is in a nice contrast with the point parts, i.e. the back is light.

2) MITTED

The Mitted pattern is characterized by white paws; short on the front legs and longer on the hind legs. The mask, rest of the paws, and tail are in the point color, while the back is in a nice contrast with the point parts, i.e. the back is light. Cats of this pattern also have a white beard and can have a white spot or mark on the forehead called a "blaze," which is highly desirable at shows. They must also have a white line that starts from the beard and runs across the entire belly.

3) BICOLOR

The Bicolor pattern has the most white color; the legs must be almost completely white. They have an inverted letter "V" on their head over the nose and between the eyes. Their back must also be lighter, but not in as much contrast with the point parts as the Mitted and Colorpoint.
